eBooks and Readers' AdvisoryThis is a featured page

"I can appreciate the benefits of this new technology but I just don't like the idea of my reading being out of the ordinary." - A comment by a library patron to me when I was discussing the benefits of ereaders for those with reading disabilities. This highlights to me the work that needs to be done to make eBooks part of the ordinary reading experience. So what might be the role of RA in a library environment in which more and more forms as well as genres are being created and made available to the readers of the world?

"Integrated advisory is a way of providing advisory services to library users that includes different formats and media while staying focused around a genre." (p. xii)

"Any time a new format is introduced in libraries, we need to look at how that format affects the readers' approach to the material." (p. 325)
