In 2010 the NSW Reference & Information Services Group (RISG) set up an account with
RedBubble to create an artistic space for the group to express events occurring within the nswRISG calendar , resulting in a range of tee-shirts to promote RISG events (including RA events & activities).
All items listed on RedBubble are available at cost-price. RISG makes no profit from the sale of these items, nor is there any intention to do so. The aim is, and has always been, to provide an alternative form of promotional and marketable material for activities, and primarily to promote public libraries.
The group's first endeavour was for
Bookbinge 2010:
a month long reading extravaganza when you try to read as much as you can in that one single month. #bookbinge is the Twitter tag used throughout the event, the blue is to compliment TwitterSince then the group has expanded along with RedBubble to create tee-shirts of various styles, sizes, and colours with simple yet relevant 'artwork' celebrating the
Reference, and
Gaming seminars held throughout 2010.
In 2011 seminar specific shirts were again designed (Reference, RA, Games) as well as a #readit2011 range & more.
2012 is looking bright already with #nyr12 shirts already available celebrating the National Year of Reading twitter reading group.
#ra2012 shirts will shortly be available for the History at the Dixson seminar.
What will RISG and RedBubble have in store next?
