Recommendation 1: Reader requirements
Identifying our type of readers, their reading seeking habits and their relationship with their books.
Recommendation 2: Collection support
Romance collections to be catalogued with full Title/Author records and whereever possible with series headings. Single titles are not to be treated as a serial. This facilitates retrieving items easier as well as allowing for more Inter-library loans.
Recommendation 3: Author events
Author talks and promotions
Romance author panels for library lovers day (14th of February)
Romance reading circles
Romance Writing Association providing workshops from the local RWA chapter
Recommendation 4: E-books
Many romance and erotica readers are already using E-book technology to access backlist material that is otherwise difficult to source. Romance and erotica titles in e-book form are recommended for library collections as they would facilitate the ease of finding series titles, tracing author backlists and allow for anonimity and discretion of reading materials chosen.
