We at Blue Mountains City Library are planning to try a few flash mobs during 2012. We were going to do one in the form of an enactment of a children's book on the day of our Children's launch on 20th January but now that clashes with the launch of our new LMS and all staff will be needed in the branches.

However, we gave it a go at the last Storytime at Springwood Branch Library :

We were quite anxious about how it would go down with the audience and were relieved and encouraged when it went well - all enjoyed it (apart from the little guy in the pink and white striped TShirt who had his hands over his ears at times!)
What we learned is that you do have to be careful of your audience. The same 'surprise' at a staff meeting last week didn't come off as well.
